PypeServer Introduces Cloud+ Update with New UI and Design-to-Install Project Visibility

PypeServer has released a major update to Cloud+, introducing a redesigned user interface, expanded machine integrations, and powerful new project tracking tools that connect fabrication workflows from the BIM model all the way to field installation. The latest release focuses on simplifying how mechanical contractors manage fabrication operations by replacing fragmented software stacks with a single, unified cloud platform.

For many contractors, managing fabrication workflows has traditionally required juggling multiple tools—separate systems for spooling, automated cutting, manual fabrication stations, and project tracking. This often results in teams relying on spreadsheets, PDFs, and manual reporting to understand shop progress or provide accurate schedules.

The latest version of Cloud+ addresses this challenge by centralizing all of that information into one platform that connects VDC teams, fabrication shops, and field crews in real time.

Protecting Existing VDC Workflows

One of the biggest concerns contractors face when implementing new software is disrupting established modeling processes. The Cloud+ platform is designed to function as a non-disruptive overlay, allowing teams to continue using their preferred modeling tools while automatically extracting fabrication data.

Using PypeServer’s Connect plug-ins, Cloud+ can pull spool and fabrication information directly from models created in tools such as Revit, AutoCAD Fabrication, and Plant 3D, along with data from commonly used BIM platforms including Evolve, NAVIATE, MSUITE BIM, SYSQUE, and Victaulic Tools.

Once the data is pushed to the cloud, the platform automatically generates 3D spool visualizations that include center-to-end dimensions, item numbers, and weld locations. This gives shop and field teams immediate access to spool information without needing access to the original design software.

Cloud+ also serves as a single source of truth by attaching spool maps, fabrication sheets, and documentation such as material test reports directly to the digital spool record. This helps eliminate revision confusion caused by outdated drawings or paper documents circulating through the shop.

Connecting the Shop Floor

Cloud+ is designed to support both highly automated fabrication environments and shops that still rely on manual cutting stations.

The platform integrates with a wide range of fabrication equipment, including machines from Kentucky Gauge, HGG, Lone Star, Machitech, TigerStop, RazorGage, Watts, Voortman, and Vernon. These machines can pull cutting data directly from the cloud and report production status back to the platform in real time.

For manual fabrication workflows, PypeServer Lyte works alongside Cloud+ to automate tasks that operators would otherwise perform manually. Running on a tablet at the cutting station, Lyte automatically calculates optimal linear nesting, prioritizes scrap usage, and tells operators exactly where to make each cut. This eliminates manual calculations and improves material utilization while maintaining the flexibility of manual tools.

The update also introduces direct integration with RotoWeld robotic welding systems. This connection allows weld logs to be automatically populated with key information such as arc-on time, welder identification, and even video references tied to each weld. By automatically capturing this data, Cloud+ improves traceability and simplifies documentation requirements for fabrication shops.

A New Dashboard for Real-Time Visibility

One of the most noticeable improvements in this release is the redesigned Cloud+ user interface, which introduces a new left-hand navigation structure and expanded dashboards that make it easier to monitor projects and shop activity.

The dashboards provide real-time production metrics such as machine throughput, linear feet cut, and diameter inches completed per day. Instead of relying on verbal updates or manual reporting, shop managers can now see fabrication progress across projects instantly.

The update also introduces a Kanban-style workflow view that allows users to drag and drop packages, spools, or welds through customizable workflow stages such as material inspection, grooving, welding, or quality control. Each movement automatically updates project status within the system.

Visual Scheduling Tools Replace Spreadsheets

Another major addition is a new set of visual scheduling tools that replace the manual spreadsheets many contractors use to track shop workloads.

Cloud+ now includes interactive calendar views and Gantt charts that allow teams to schedule projects, assign start and due dates, and monitor progress across the fabrication queue. Users can also see the percentage of work completed versus remaining scope at a glance, giving project managers a clearer understanding of schedule risk and shop capacity.

Extending Visibility to Shipping and the Field

The Cloud+ update extends workflow visibility beyond the shop floor with the addition of a new Shipping Dashboard.

This feature allows teams to track shipments scheduled for today, the current week, or upcoming delivery windows. Users can also group spools into digital containers representing pallets or truckloads, each assigned a scannable QR code to maintain a digital delivery record.

The platform can also automatically generate Bills of Lading based on material quantities and weights pulled directly from the BIM model, eliminating manual paperwork and reducing the risk of shipping errors.

A Unified Fabrication Ecosystem

With this release, PypeServer continues its mission of connecting every stage of the fabrication process—from the model to the shop floor and ultimately to the field.

By combining model data integration, machine connectivity, production dashboards, scheduling tools, and shipping visibility into one cloud platform, Cloud+ helps contractors replace fragmented workflows with a more transparent and efficient fabrication ecosystem.

The result is a system that allows teams to spend less time managing spreadsheets and more time focusing on what matters most—fabricating and installing work with confidence.
