What’s New in Cloud+ 2.0

A Faster, Cleaner, More Powerful Cloud UI

Cloud+ 2.0 introduces a significantly upgraded interface designed to improve visibility, speed, and ease of use across every department. For executives and operations leaders, the free read-only license now provides enhanced dashboards and deeper analytics, making it easier than ever to spot production bottlenecks, monitor project health, and protect profitability with real-time insights. VDC teams benefit from the arrival of Cloud Spooling, which eliminates the need to pull dimensions or add tags inside Revit—simplifying spool creation while still allowing traditional fabrication sheets and spool maps to be uploaded when needed so shops can maintain familiar workflows.

In the fabrication shop, the redesigned viewing layout is larger, clearer, and optimized for readability, enabling teams to quickly identify parts and spools and update statuses with far fewer clicks. Field foremen and project managers also gain improved visibility, enjoying a free read-only license to check project status anytime and the option to upgrade to Cloud+ for full approval workflows. With instant notifications, mobile spool approvals, and less time spent calling the office for updates, field operations stay tightly aligned with VDC and the shop from start to finish.

Cloud Spooling

Cloud+ 2.0 incorporates Cloud Spooling, which fundamentally addresses the inefficiencies involved in manually creating and managing fabrication drawings. This functionality enables VDC teams to push pipe assemblies directly from the design model to the cloud platform, bypassing the need to dimension, tag, and publish hundreds of detailed sheets within Revit itself, thereby preventing model bloat. The Cloud environment then automatically generates fabrication-ready spools, providing immediate access to required cutting and assembly information. Furthermore, PypeServer Cloud grants users direct control over this data, allowing field or shop teams to create, define, and delete spools as required for specific job or shop needs. Cloud Spooling ensures data integrity, maintains leaner Revit files, and provides a single, consistent source of truth. This improved data management facilitates smoother collaboration between VDC, the fabrication shop, and the field, ultimately accelerating the entire model-to-production schedule.

Cloud+ 2.0 introduces a faster, more intuitive package approval workflow that streamlines coordination between VDC, project managers, fab shop managers, and field foreman. Approvals are now easier to initiate and track with the ability to update part and package statuses directly from both the shop and the field helping teams stay aligned in real time, ensuring that progress is transparent and that work continues without the usual bottlenecks.

Teams can now add third-party collaborators, such as GCs, subs, or partner shops, to specific workgroups for controlled sharing and tighter coordination. Additionally, Cloud+ 2.0 introduces project and package scheduling, allowing users to enter start and due dates that automatically populate Gantt-style timelines, making it simple to track progress, identify schedule risks early, and keep fabrication moving without bottlenecks.

Weld Log / MTR Automation & Rotoweld Integration Upgrade

Weld Log and MTR automation allows you to instantly track critical data points like heat numbers and Welder IDs. You can customize status scripts to capture detailed information on weld procedures, QA/QC pass/fail statuses, and any required comments where needed. Automated notifications can instantly alert individuals or project teams upon status changes, ensuring total accountability and real-time project quality management.

Furthermore, our new integration with Rotoweld automates data capture, sending back the weld URL, program, Welder ID, and machine name directly to the log.

Cloud+ 2.0 introduces Interactive Spool Tags, an enhancement to the user interface designed to give shop and field teams a faster, more reliable way to navigate complex project data. Within the Cloud platform, these interactive elements allow users to move effortlessly through the project hierarchy. From a high-level view of a Package, users can now quickly and intuitively drill down to the specific Spool within that package. This immediate, contextual access eliminates unnecessary clicks, significantly reduces manual searching through menus, and tightens the loop between fabrication and field execution, making Cloud+ an even more powerful, efficient, and user-friendly mobile project tracking system.

Interactive spool tags let users move smoothly through the entire project hierarchy—jumping from a high-level Package view directly into the specific Spool they need with speed and clarity.

Field Orders are Now Available in Cloud+ 2.0.

The new Field Orders feature was developed to fundamentally simplify the way the field submits orders for fabrication. Moving past the traditional workflow of sending photos of hand-drawn sketches and separate material lists, Cloud+ 2.0 now allows the field team to upload those vital spool drawings directly. Furthermore, the system enables them to populate a complete and accurate list of material, fittings, cut parts, and valves right within the platform. With this expanded compatibility, Cloud+ becomes a truly paperless fabrication environment, integrating field inputs and spooling data directly into the shop’s production queue.
