Greetings, PypeServer community!
Join us for a presentation by the CEO of PypeServer, David Basiji, at FABTECH Expo. In this session, titled “Fabricating Directly from the Design Model: Connecting CAD/BIM to Fabrication Shop Machinery,” Dr. Basiji will discuss the insights and technologies that are shaping the future of fabrication workflows.
The Future is Now: Connecting CAD/BIM to Fabrication Shop Machinery
The construction and manufacturing industries have come a long way in recent years, thanks to advancements in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM). However, there’s always been a gap between the design process and the fabrication of components and parts. Traditionally, designs in CAD or BIM have been handed off to detailers and then to fabricators, leading to potential errors, delays, and miscommunication.
PypeServer’s software aims to bring design, fabrication, and assembly into a single workflow that takes parts or spools from the CAD or BIM model delivers them to fabrication tools with all the information necessary for the machines and the skilled tradespeople to do their job in the most efficient way possible. PypeServer Connect, Cloud, Enterprise, and Lyte software products facilitate the seamless collaboration between designers, engineers, and fabricators to make fabrication directly from the design model a reality.
What to Expect:
During this conference session, attendees will delve into the following key areas:
1. The Power of Model-to-Tool Integration: View a demonstration of how PypeServer’s software integrates CAD/BIM data with fabrication shop machinery. By generating cut lists from the design model and creating a direct link with fabrication machinery, many routine but critical steps in the fabrication process are automated or completely eliminated. greatly reducing the potential for mistakes, duplication, and waste.
2. The Benefits of a Cloud-Based Workflow: Attendees will learn how sending their fabrication data through the cloud is more than just a convenience. It eliminates file management and IT headaches, it keeps track of fabrication status on a part-by-part basis to handle change orders and prevent duplication, and it lets the fabrication and field teams see what they’re building in 3D, as they’re building it. Further, data sent back up to the cloud from the tools allows for real-time status tracking and monitoring of consumable use. All of this results in a more transparent fabrication process and increased productivity, giving businesses that use it a competitive edge in the market.
3. Enhanced Collaboration: Many fabricators use plans and models supplied by clients or third parties and, conversely, many design groups use off-site or third-party fabricators. We will highlight how PypeServer’s Cloud platform facilitates collaboration among stakeholders, allowing them to communicate and share information seamlessly. We’ll also describe our public Cloud API and our Software Development Kit to allow both software developers and tool manufacturers to take advantage of the model-to-tool cloud ecosystem PypeServer has built.
4. Case Studies: Several case studies will be presented that illustrate the different ways people are using the PypeServer ecosystem today for the fabrication of piping, plumbing, and hangers.
